Tanzania is well-known for its spirit of adventure, with a wide range of outstanding thrills and spills that will provide you with unforgettable memories. The country is rich in a variety of rugged landscapes, picturesque beaches, incredible wildlife and breathtaking wilderness that are perfect for adrenaline-charged activities.  Most of the adventures take place in the wilderness areas, but you can still enjoy some unique experiences in the city and the coastal regions.

Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro

Mt. Kilimanjaro is considered the world’s tallest free-standing mountain, rising 4600m from the bottommost to the peak. It’s also the highest mountain in Africa, located in northeast Tanzania. Climbing this mountain is challenging, but it’s an epic adventure you wouldn’t want to forget in a hurry. The mountain has several hiking routes, offering spectacular views as you climb up to its peak.   It’s a difficult climb as you will be hiking through alpine heather, rainforest, glaciers, and crater rim. The journey can take between five to ten days, and you must acclimatize if you want to climb the mountain successfully.

Scuba diving in Nungwi

Most people visit the resort town of Nungwi to relax and have some fun due to a wide range of luxury resorts and hotels lining the beach. However, there are several activities for adrenaline junkies in the town such as scuba diving, Jet, Ski, and paragliding. The golden sand beach of Nungwi has been listed as one of the best beaches in the world, and it’s a great place to indulge in some epic water adventures.

Snorkelling in Mnemba Atoll

Mnemba is a remote island in Zanzibar famous for snorkelling and diving activities. Mnemba Atoll is an excellent spot for scuba diving and snorkelling, featuring colourful and well-preserved coral reef, as well as a wide range of fish species such as eels, clownfish, yellow snappers, Moorish idols, barracuda, blue tang, and many others.

Parasailing in Kendwa

Nothing beats flying in the sky and looking down to see the beautiful colours of the coral reef, the white sandy beaches, tropical forests, beachfront resorts and the whole Island of Zanzibar island.  Parasailing is an adventure with amazing thrills, and you don’t need to have the experience to enjoy it. Kitesurfing in Paje

Paje Beach is considered the best spot for kitesurfing due to its water depth crystal-clear shallow water, temperature (about 24-degree), reef for surfing waves and wind speed (averagely around 16knots). Paje also has a fantastic kite riding area with sandy bottoms with little or no obstacles. You can also try windsurfing in Paje too.

Quad Biking around Lake Tanganyika

How vast and old can a lake be? Lake Tanganyika is the second-oldest freshwater lake in the world which is found close to the town of Kigoma. It is also the longest freshwater lake there is, and it is so vast that it cuts across three other countries (Congo, Zambia, and Burundi). In Tanzania, it’s located in the western part of Tanzania, and the terrain around the lake shores is a perfect spot for quad biking.

Hot air ballooning in Serengeti

With its stunning landscapes, Serengeti National Park is a superb location in Tanzania for hot air ballooning. In fact, it’s a unique adventure that will get your adrenaline pumping, as you enjoy the stunning view of the whole park, and observe the wildlife from a different perspective.
