  23 August 2017       Tripindigo       5 min read

Tanzania has long been a great holiday destination for travellers from all over the world. With its wonderful scenery, unique wildlife, scenic islands and welcoming people, the country offers visitors a holiday packed with extraordinary sights, exquisite East African cuisine and unforgettable experiences. The country is steeped in beauty, history, and culture and attracts travellers from all walks of life all year round. Many tourists are drawn to the country for its fascinating wildlife experiences and picturesque beaches.

Getting a visa to Tanzania is not as demanding as most travellers might have imagined. However, visa rules for visitors vary from one country to another. The rules depend on the nationality of the visitor – the country that issued the visitor’s passport. Some tourists may enter Tanzania without a visa, some may need to obtain their visa at the points of entry – “Visa on Arrival” and some may need to apply for a pre-arranged visa from Tanzania’s Embassy or Consulate in their home country.

Nationals of countries allowed entry to Tanzania without visa – “Visa-Free” can stay up to 90 days. Some citizens are required to get special clearance from the Commissioner General of Immigration before they can obtain visa for entry. Certain nationals who fall under this category may or may not qualify a visa after their application has been reviewed.
