Kenya is one of the most spectacular tourist destinations in the world, with a rich culture, mouth-watering cuisine, diverse landscapes, scenic views, friendly locals, and a great variety of beautiful flora and fauna. One of its most beautiful locations is Mombasa, a county on the coast, part of which is the breathtaking Mombasa Island. For couples, this region is the ideal location for a visit! The seaside city of Mombasa is known for beach holidays and coastal experiences, and has many romantic places, perfect for proposals, dates, and honeymoons!

History of Mombasa

Until 1840, the region was fought over by Turks, Arabs, Persians, and the Portuguese, till it came under the sultan of Zanzibar in 1840, and then under British rule in 1895. Today, the area is an amalgamation of all these rich and beautiful cultures, which makes it a unique and enjoyable place to visit.
