Lewa Wildlife Conservancy - Kenya

Lewa Downs, also known as the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy is a home to the endangered Black Rhino and a wide variety of wildlife species. The conservancy was once a cattle ranch that was established by the Craig Family in the 1920's and converted into a Rhino Sanctuary. Today, the Big Five including the largest population of Grevy's zebras are found here.

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy made the news in 2010 when Britain's Prince William took Catherine Middleton here and proposed to her.  Since then, the Conservancy has become one of the exclusive and popular safari destinations in Kenya. It is also famous for hosting the annual Safaricom Marathon, held to raise fund for the Conservancy's environmental initiatives. Lewa Wildlife Conservancy has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers guests a wide range of activities to enjoy.
