The shores of the lake on the park provides habitation to a wide variety of animals including hippos, Nile crocodiles, monitor lizards, snakes, baboons, monkeys, impalas, sitatunga antelopes, waterbucks, zebras, warthogs, aardvark, butterflies and several fish species.
Amazing Birdlife:
There are over 100 different species of birds seen in Ndere Island Park. They include African fish eagles, black-headed gonoleks, Hamerkop and grey-headed kingfishers.
Spectacular Vegetation:
The predominantly grassland island park takes a brown colour flowering on the aerial view. Interspersed with indigenous tree species and shrubs, the island has woodland and forest on its lower rim as Papyrus reeds line its shores.
