Not to Miss During Flights
Catch a glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro as you leave the North of Tanzania and head across the country to the east coast. Once you reach the coast you will then need to cross the Zanzibar channel, your pilot will have the nose of the plane pointed slightly south of east, headed for Pemba’s capital Chake-Chake and it’s close to the airport of Wawe, Karume or Pemba - one place, many names.
This is a flight of colours, textures, sea, sky, beach, coral, rock and green hills. Take one deep breath, close your eyes and imagine the artist’s palette and colour choices. Your camera should be clicking away.
Your approach to the airfield usually requires a left-hand turn line up, and then you’re down.
