The flight to Zanzibar offers a bird's eye view of the bustling city of Dar es Salaam as you fly over on your way to the Indian Ocean. Passing over the northern beach resorts of Kunduchi and Bahari with the Masaki peninsula on your right-hand side. On approaching Zanzibar, you will catch your first glimpse of Zanzibar Town a collection of small islands of the coast like Chumbe Island a private nature reserve and as you get closer, the famous harbour which has been a busy trading port for centuries.
Airport & Layover Tips
After you land at Zanzibar airport, you will pass through Immigration and collect your bags and proceed to the exit to meet your transfer. There is an abundance of taxis available to take you to your destination if you do not have a pre-arranged transfer.
The centre of Zanzibar Town is a short 10 minute drive and the northern beaches are around 1 hour and 30 minutes away.
