Distance and Flight Time
There are no regular direct flights servicing the Zanzibar to Moshi route.You will need to either fly to Kilimanjaro or Dar es Salaam and get a connecting flight to Moshi. While a bit of a mission, the trip from the coast and the islands to the North of Tanzania provide so much ‘eye candy’ that quick is not always better!
If you prefer to get a better lay of the land you can also travel by road by hiring a car or booking a bus, travelling by road you will have to cover around 626 kilometres in total. You will need to travel by ferry off the Island of Zanzibar and then via road from Dar Es Salaam to Moshi. The entire trip will take you around 13 hours to complete.
Not to Miss During Flights
As you depart Zanzibar you will spot colours and textures of the sea, the beaches, corals and rocks that, with the varying depth of the water contribute to the changing colours. Once you've covered the majority of the inland section of the flight and get closer to the north you should spot Mount Kilimanjaro and later a site of the Mkomazi National park as you head to the East Coast.
